A unique alternative shopping event celebrating horror, gothic culture and independent creativity is set to return to Dundee next month.

Blackheart Market will take over the Wellgate Shopping Centre on Saturday, 8 August, bringing together independent traders from across Scotland offering everything from gothic fashion and artwork to horror collectibles and handmade crafts.

Running from 11am until 5pm, the free event promises a different shopping experience, with stalls showcasing spooky home décor, jewellery, alternative clothing, original artwork and unusual gifts inspired by horror and the macabre.

Organisers say the market is aimed at horror enthusiasts, members of the alternative community and anyone looking to discover something a little different while supporting independent businesses.

As well as giving visitors the chance to browse unique products that are unlikely to be found on the high street, the event also provides a platform for small makers and artists from across Scotland.

While entry is free and the event is open to all ages, organisers are advising parents that some displays and merchandise - including horror-themed artwork, animatronics and gore-inspired items - may not be suitable for younger children, with parental discretion recommended.

Blackheart Market will be held at the Wellgate Shopping Centre on Saturday, 8 August, from 11am until 5pm, with free admission throughout the day.
