A Comic Book Artist Is Recreating Famous Movie Posters With Characters From The Broons

A comic book artist is recreating famous movie posters featuring characters from The Broons, a strip created by DC Thomson which is featured in The Sunday Post - and it is absolutely glorious.

The Broons at the Movies is a project as part of a wider Kickstarter project by Stref, which is the pen name for Stephen White.

Stephen, who is based in Edinburgh, is a writer and artist that has worked on the the Beano, the Dandy, Viz and comics featuring characters such as Peter Pan, Raising Amy, Oor Wullie and the Broons.

Stephen designed the Oor Wullie sculpture that sits opposite the DC Thomson headquarters nearby the McManus Galleries.

The poster parodies have been put on Instagram, posted by Comic Scene, who are promoting a Kickstarter by Stref for a project called Tara Togs: The Silence of Unicorns, a graphic novel about a young girl hoping to become a professional photographer but ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The graphic novel has took Stref five years to complete and the fundraiser has hit £7,000, well up from it's initial target of £2,000 which is fantastic.

Some of the parodies created are Stair Wars (Star Wars), Paw's (Jaw's), The Granfather (The Godfather), Forrest Grump (Forrest Gump) and Hame Alone (Home Alone).
