A bold new shark graffiti piece has just surfaced in Dundee’s streetscape

Writer: Andrew BatchelorAndrew Batchelor

A bold new piece of street art has splashed onto the scene in Dundee, transforming a hidden corner of the city into a work of urban art mastery.

The striking mural, created by Dundee graffiti artist SYKE, shows a realistic shark cruising across three blue-painted panels set into an old stone wall in Sugarhouse Wynd.

The artwork cleverly incorporates the surrounding stonework, creating the illusion of the shark surfacing from the deep.

SYKE, who is notoriously famous for his distinctive graffiti artwork throughout the city, has been at it again with this dramatic design.

The mural is a great addition to Dundee's growing street art scene, which has seen increased wall, underpass, and abandoned area artistic creations in recent times.

The detail and electric blue backdrop blend to render the mural attention-grabbing, inviting passing walkers to stop and behold its ingenuity.

This recent addition to the Dundee street art scene is already gaining fans in locals and visitors alike. Regardless of whether it's a nod to the city's maritime history or just a lovely eyecatcher, the shark mural is a brilliant new addition from a brilliant graffiti artist!
